Description

Mammillaria centricirrha (Mammillaria magnimamma), is a native of Mexico, is a perennial cactus. Initially, it grows as a solitary stem. Over time, it develops branches from its base, or sometimes splits in two (dichotomously), eventually forming large, ground-hugging mounds. These mounds can reach up to 50 cm in diameter, and sometimes even larger, barely rising above the ground. This cactus exhibits significant variation, leading to its description under numerous different names. A key characteristic that varies greatly is the spines; their shape and length are not consistent. In some instances, these spines can be exceptionally long, reaching up to 5 centimeters in length.

Plants on offer are seed grown and are shown here in a 7cm pot.
