Description

Huernia keniensis var. globosa is a perennial succulent and variety of stapeliad with gray-green stems that have small brown spots and reddish to purple flowers. The stems are irregularly branching and can be prostrate to erect.

It In the summer, and it produces showy flowers with five points and a red-purple colour. The flowers are covered with three-dimensional glands and bloom in funnel- or bowl-shaped flowers. The stems can grow up to 15–20 cm in height and tend to prostrate towards the ground. They grow well in large containers such as hanging baskets.

They prefer full sun but can tolerate moderate shade. Water once every two weeks to three weeks in summer and reduce watering to once per month or less. Soil must be dry before watering. They prefer a well draining sandy soil medium.

The plant is native to Kenya’s Masai District.
