Description
Conophytum truncatum ssp is a small South African species of succulent plant of the genus Conophytum. Conophytum truncatum can be distinguished from its closest relatives by its truncated, flattened heads, with small fissures. It is a very variable species. Some population have spots – sometimes arranged into vague lines; others have no markings. A great little plant for beginner mesemb collectors.
They are mostly summer dormant and only require watering at least once per month or when they start looking a bit dried out. They prefer a sandy mineral based soil mix. In summer they tend to get a white paper-like covering over each little head to protect it from the harsh summer sun.
