Description
Huernia delicata is perennial succulent belonging to the genus Huernia of the family Apocynaceae. It is native to East Africa where it grows on sandy, nutrient-poor soils; Found mainly in Ethiopia where it grows primarily in the desert or in dry shrubland, this plant is regularly confused with other species such as Huernia concinna, Huernia sudanensis and hybrids of these species.
This is quite a rare variety of Huernia and not often found in cultivation. They are very intolerant of over watering. They prefer a well draining sandy soil medium. Ensure soil is completely dry before watering and do not water more than twice per month in summer and once every 4 to 5 weeks in winter. They enjoy dappled sun to bright shady spots, so perfect to place in sunny window sill. They are prone to get woolly mealy bug and aphids. Treat with Malasol or Rose Care to prevent pests and diseases.
