Description
Crassula barklyi, also known as the rattlesnake tail, is a perennial succulent native to South Africa, Lesotho and Eswatini. It has an unusual growth habit with rich green, scale foliage that grows as if they’ve been slotted into place. The plant is known for its architectural columns of overlapping, angular leaves that form short upright stems that clump out between rocks.
The prefer to grow in a well draining sandy soil medium. A mix of 1:1:1 of mineral river sand , fine buffered coco coir and fine rich compost will ensure good drainage and root development. Make sure not to over water. Once ever 10 days is sufficient. The plant will appear dark green when placed in a space with good airflow, good balance of direct sun and sahde and regalar watering and care. Plants exposed to all day full sun may appear reddish brown and may require more frequent watering.
