Description

Anacampseros baeseckii is a dwarf, slow-growing succulent hailing from the sunny landscapes of South Africa and Namibia. This petite beauty forms tight clusters of thick, pointy leaves in deep green, rich reddish, or chocolate-brown hues, gradually spreading into a lush, mat-like groundcover. Come summer, it delights with delicate purple blooms that add a pop of color to its earthy palette—perfect for rock gardens, terrariums, or as a low-maintenance desktop gem!
Anacampseros baeseckii is a fuss-free little trooper that thrives on classic succulent neglect.

Care tips:

Light: Give it bright, indirect sun or a few hours of gentle morning rays; a south- or east-facing windowsill is ideal. Too much harsh afternoon sun can scorch its dark leaves, while too little turns them leggy and pale. Soil: Plant in a fast-draining gritty mix—50 % potting soil with 50 % pumice, perlite, or coarse sand works wonders. A shallow terracotta pot with a drainage hole keeps roots happy. Water: Water deeply but infrequently during spring and summer (every 10–14 days once the soil is fully dry). In fall and winter, cut back to once a month or less—this South African native loves a proper dry dormancy. Temperature: It enjoys 18–30 °C in the growing season and tolerates down to 5 °C; protect from frost. Fertilizer: Feed once in early spring with a diluted cactus fertilizer (half-strength); skip it the rest of the year.
