Description
Crassula socialis, commonly known as the “Social Crassula,” is a charming, low-growing succulent that forms dens, cushion-like mats. Native to the Eastern Cape of South Africa, this highly tactile plant features tightly clustered, lime-green leaves arranged in perfect, geometrically striking rosettes. In late winter to early spring, it puts on a lovely display by sending up clusters of tiny, star-shaped white flowers that sit beautifully above the foliage. Its compact, spreading habit makes it an exceptional choice for small decorative containers, terrariums, or as a vibrant living groundcover in rock gardens. Produces delicate, sweet clusters of white flowers that contrast beautifully with its bright green foliage.
- Light: Prefers bright, filtered light or partial morning sun. Strong afternoon sun can scorch its tender leaves, while too little light may cause the rosettes to stretch.
- Water: Follow a strict “soak and dry” routine. Water thoroughly only when the soil is completely dry, and ensure excellent pot drainage to prevent root rot.
- Temperature: Protect this plant from severe frost. It thrives in temperate conditions and enjoys good airflow around its dense clusters
